Restylane

Restylane is a filler for facial and lip enhancement in Simi Valley, Moorpark and Northrdige.

Restylane is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated similar to your hyaluronic acid in the skin.  Restylane family visibly corrects fine lines, moderate and severe lines in the face and the hand.   Most common lines and wrinkles are nasolabial folds and marionette lines (corners of the mouth).  


Depending on which Restylane product is used, the length of stay depends on its viscosity.   Some last between 6 to 9 months.  Because it is not animal based, there is no allergy testing required prior to treatment. Hyaluronic acid is a protein found in the joints and tissues of all living things. Restylane is soft, holds its shape, and does not form lumps.

Refyne and Defyne technology works amazingly by allowing the gel to stretch.   When injected in the lips, during smiling it will actually stretch with your lips making it appear natural and soft without lumps and bumps.  

Restylane has also been FDA approved to inject the dermal filler with a blunt-tip microcannula.   At NewSkin Laser Center, we use the blunt tip cannula to inject the areas to reduce the pain, bruising and complications.   It also makes the procedure safer and more predictable when the micro-cannula is used.   This cannula is used especially in the high risk area of the face, including the tear trough, lips and nasolabial area. 

Lip augmentation - Post injection care

Restylane is a hyaluronic acid based injectable filler, which lasts about six months. 

Throughout the Face Restylane injections cause no significant pain, swelling, or recovery time. Treatments typically take about 30 minutes. A topical numbing cream is applied prior to treatment. When Dr. Darush injects the lips, he numbs the area with a painless Lidocaine dental nerve block under the lip. Small amounts of Restylane are injected into precise locations, and in most cases you will be asked to give feedback so that you have control over your final look. The result is a soft, pliable filled area, which looks natural. After six to eight months your body absorbs the filler and the injections can be repeated, meaning that the treated area can be adjusted to compliment the changes that occur in your face over time.
